The Zhengxi (Zhengzhou- Xi'an) High-speed Rail, opened in February, 2010, connects Zhengzhou, Luoyang and Xi'an. The journey between the two ends is shortened into two hours. As it joins the oldest cities in China, this line is favored by visitors who favor the splendid Chinese history and culture.
Zhengzhou – Luoyang
Starting from Zhengzhou, the high-speed rail takes visitors to Luoyang in 40 minutes. Luoyang, located at the west end of the Eurasian landmass and split down the middle by the Yellow River, is one of the sources of Chinese culture. Luoyang is one of the seven ancient capital cities of China, and has been the capital of several dynasties. Located in a rough mountainous area, it has long been a strategically important place.
Longmen Grottoes
The Longmen Grottoes (simplified Chinese: 龙门石窟; pinyin: lóngmén shíkū; lit. Dragon's Gate Grottoes) or Longmen Caves are located 12 km south of present day Luoyang in Henan Province. The grottoes, which overwhelmingly depict Buddhist subjects, are densely dotted along the two mountains: Xiangshan (to the east) and Longmenshan (to the west). The Yi River flows northward between them. For this reason, the area used to be called Yique (The Gate of the Yi River). From north to south, the distance covered by grottoes is about one km. Along with the Mogao Caves and Yungang Grottoes, the Longmen Grottoes are one of the three most famous ancient sculptural sites in China. There are over 2,100 niches, more than 100,000 statues, some 40 pagodas and 3,600 tablets and steles in the caves of Guyang, Binyang and Lianhua.

Transportation: take bus No.53, 67 or 81 and get off at Longmen Grottoes.
