In the winter when tourism's low season comes, many famous mountains in China are making preferential policies to attract more visitors.
Lushan Mountain, Jiangxi Province
Located in the Poyang Lake Basin, in the north of Jiangxi Province, Lushan Mountain is one of the most famous mountains in China.
Its scenic area covers an area of 382 square kilometers. The main peak, the Dahanyang Peak measures 1,474 meters tall. Among the peaks, there are 26 mountain uplifts, 20 valleys, 16 caves, 22 places of grotesque rocks, 22 waterfalls, 18 streams and 14 lakes or pools. The famous Three-Step Waterfall (Sandiequan Pubu) has a high drop of 155 meters. Its unique landscape has very high scientific value and is well-worthy of appreciation.
Since ancient times, Lushan Mountain has been frequented by many poets and scholars. The over 4,000 poems, ditties, odes and songs all speak volumes in favor of it.
Admission fee: 135 yuan (Dec.1–March 31); 180 yuan (April 1–Nov.30)
Transportation: take the minibus from Jiujiang Long-distance bus station to Lushan Mountain.
Travel tips:
1. The Xingzixian hot spring, located in the southern scenic sight in Lushan Mountain is the largest radon hot spring in China. Visitors can get there by taking the Tongyuan Exit of Tongyuan Expressway. The temperature of the hot spring can reach 72.5 C. It is the best entertainment to spend winter vacation.
2. Visitors should wear non-slipping shoes when climbing the mountain. During snowfalls, wear sun glasses to protect your eyes.
