Shenyang Imperial Palace
Built in 1625, also known as "the Shengjing Palace", the Shenyang Imperial Palace was the initial royal palace of the Qing Dynasty established by the Manchu nobles. The first three Qing emperors lived there from 1625 to 1644. Now after a number of large-scale renovations, it has been developed into the Shenyang Palace Museum which covers 70,000 square meters and has some 300 rooms in 70 buildings. It was listed by UNESCO as a World Cultural Heritage Site to be an extension of the Forbidden City in Beijing in 2004.
