Hainan Airlines and Air Berlin have entered into a new codeshare agreement which will increase the number of flights on which they collaborate to a total of 13.
In August 2008, the two airlines launched codeshare cooperation on flights between Beijing and Berlin and on flights from Berlin to Nuremberg, Dusseldorf, and Stuttgart. The new agreement has added air routes from Berlin to six further German destinations — Munich, Frankfurt, Cologne, Karlsruhe, Munster, and Saarbrucken — and to three other European cities: Stockholm, Vienna, and Zurich.
Travelers can be issued with boarding passes for their connecting flights at the departure airport thus eliminating the need to have a boarding pass re-issued when transiting through Berlin.
