Hainan to host 60 sports and cultural events in 2010

To promote international tourism and celebrate its 60th anniversary of its liberation, the Hainan government will host 60 cultural and sports events in 2010.
Fan Xiaojun, director of Hainan's Department of Culture, Radio, Television, Publication and Sports, said the activities were important events that will help develop the island province's culture and sports.
The activities include antique exhibitions, publication of books, sports events and mass sports activities, such as:
• the 2010 China International Sports and Tourism Fair;
• display of relics from Mawangdui Han tombs;
• the Tour of Hainan Island cycling race;
• the Tour of Hainan Island sailing race; and the
• Hainan International Dragon Boat Race.
