The 5th World Heritage Forum in Macao opened at the Venetian Macao Exhibition Center, Nov. 11, 2009, and will run for two days.

The World Heritage Forum is a permanent public service platform for academic exchanges initiated by some post-secondary institutions from China, world heritage sites, and media organizations. With the theme of "Protection, Development, Promotion, Exchange for World Heritage and Intangible Cultural Heritage", the forum is supported by the Macao Government Tourist Office & Cultural Affairs Bureau and Macao Foundation.

More than 10 experts on world heritage, including the former president of China Foreign Affairs University, Wu Jianmin, delivered speeches at the forum to explore the status and future development for world heritage and intangible cultural heritage.

One of the highlights is Chinese President Hu Jintao's original paper cutting Hui Niang Jia (Going Back to Parent's Home) will be exhibited at the 2nd World Heritage Expo on Thursday, which is related to the forum.
