Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo insisted on Thursday that he is delighted with life at his new club.
Ronaldo became the most expensive footballer in the world this summer when he swapped Manchester united for Madrid at a price of 95 million Euros.
Perhaps because Real Madrid coach Manuel Pellegrini has asked him to play on the left of midfield, he has not had the best of starts at his new club, especially in comparison to other summer signings Kaka and Karim Benzema.
However, Ronaldo scored a penalty in the first league game of the season as Madrid defeated Deportivo la Coruna 3-2 and he insists he is perfectly happy at the Santiago Bernabeu.
"Everyone is going to have the chance to see the Cristiano Ronaldo that we are used to," he told sports paper Diario AS.
"I am very demanding with myself and I aim to work hard to get to the level that I am used to being at. The fans helped me a lot in the Deportivo match," he said.
The Portuguese international won everything that it is possible to win at club level with Manchester United, but he denied that as a result of that, he now lacked ambition.
"There is nothing missing at all. I am the same Cristiano Ronaldo and I have the same desire to win. The thing is that we have just started to work and it is normal that I am not 100%."
"It is just a question of time and work to get to my best level, which could possibly be better than I am playing at the moment," said Ronaldo.
