China posted a 9-5 victory over South Korea to take the men's curling bronze medal at the Harbin Universiade on Thursday.

In the two-hour-and-a-half competition, China upset South Korea 5-3 in the first five ends. The host continued to expand its advantage and forced South Korea to concede after the ninth end.

In the men's and women's semi-finals earlier on Thursday, China and Canada breezed into women's final after defeating Russia and Britain respectively, while Sweden and Norway advanced into men's with victories over China and South Korea.

With women's qualification into the final, China witnessed its best-ever curling results in world large-scale winter games.

Altogether 10 teams participated in each of the men's and women's competitions.

Unlike the World Championships, the top four in the round robin draw would breeze into the semi-finals, with the first against the last and the second against the third for the final seats.

The curling competitions are going to conclude on Friday with the final gold battles.
