The Beijing Paralympics proved to be the best ever Paralympic games thanks to excellent organization and preparation, Baboro Larraga, chairman of Mexican Wheelchair and Amputee Sport Federation, told Xinhua in an interview on Sunday.
Larraga, who had attended quite a few Paralympics before, said he witnessed in Beijing great efforts the host made for receiving more than 4,000 disabled athletes from all over the world.
"All members of Mexican delegation were well received. The organizers of the Beijing Paralympics met their goal to meet every athlete's demands," Larraga said.
According to him, other members of the Mexican delegation shared the same appreciation with him over Beijing Paralympics.
"All the entrances to rooms, toilets and buildings had been renovated so that the disabled athletes had not encountered any problems. We were surprised because the organizers had solved all problems which could be thought of," Larraga said.
Larraga said he was also deeply impressed by the efforts made to facilitate disabled people's life in Beijing, including no-barrier passages in many historical sites like the Great Wall and the Forbidden City.
Larraga hailed the opening and closing ceremonies of the Beijing Paralympics as "full of creativity and talent," which exhibited the splendid Chinese culture to the world.
