In the 23rd round of the Brasileiro Championship, Flamengo and Fluminense tied 2-2 in the Maracana stadium on Sunday.
The heroes for Fluminense were Dario Conca and Mauricio, while for Flamengo, Marcelinho Paraiba and Kleberson lit up the scoreboard.
With Sunday's result, Fluminense remains in 15th place with 24 points. Flamengo continues in seventh place with 37 points.
The match started off with both teams creating many scoring opportunities. Fluminense was the first to score when their goal came in the 11th minute off the feet of Conca who fired a one-timer, surprising the Flamengo goalkeeper, Bruno.
In the 25th minute, Flamengo responded when Everton passed the ball to Marcelinho Paraiba who finally gained control of the ball and sent it past the Fluminense goalkeeper, Fernando Henrique.
The second half was also quite evenly divided between the two teams. In the 21st minute of the second half, Fluminense scored their second goal of the game. Mauricio fired a ball well outside of the penalty box in the direction of Bruno. The ball seemed like a bad shot, however, it gained velocity and curved, blowing past Bruno and entering the net.
Flamengo reacted and scored their second goal in the 44th minute of the second half. Sambueza dribbled past the Fluminense defense and passed the ball off to a wide open Kleberson, who tapped the ball into the net to tie the game.
Flamengo returns to the field to host Figueirense on Wednesday night. Fluminense, however, will only return to action next Saturday when they host Gremio at the Maracana stadium.
