Rasmussen wins fourth stage, Fajt keeps jersey
Adjust font size:

Danish Olympic hopeful Alex Rasmussen claimed his third stage victory Monday in the fourth stage of Tour de Qinghai Lake, but Slovenian professional Kristjan Fajt still kept the yellow jersey.

The 24-year-old Rasmussen forgot the bad luck in the third stage on Sunday and contributed his victory to the teamwork. He said the strategy was basically the same as that of Sunday and they made it work on Monday.

"Today we have guys to take responsibility in the beginning but also at the end," he said, "We took the responsibility because we had to win the stage."

"Absolutely excellent!" hailed Rasmussen, "It was perfect teamwork."

Rasmussen and his three teammates, including Michael Morkov Christensen and Jorgensen Casper, made a breakaway in the last one kilometer and went in front in the last 200 meters before keeping the edge till the end.
