Uganda's former IBF light middleweight champion Kassim Ouma is to return to the ring on March 28 in a-must-win fight against American Cornelius Bundrage in New York.
It will be the first fight for the Florida-based Ugandan in the new year after a terrible 2007 that saw him lose a fight to Mexican journeyman Saul Roman to bring his record to 25(15 KOs)4-1.
Ouma has been in camp for the last two months in West Palm Beach, Florida, preparing for the fight with a team led by his Ugandan trainer Fred Muteweta.
The south-paw boxer goes into the fight aware that he can not start the year with a defeat as he seeks to improve his ranking in the 154-pound division, where he has dropped to 26th in the WBC ratings since his last fight.
The Ugandan lost the world title in 2005 to Russian Roman Karmazin. Opponents he beat earlier like Congolese Alex Bunema is now rated number four. IBF rates Ouma at 13 in the same division.
