Minnesota's Al Jefferson and Orlando's Hedo Turkoglu were
selected the Eastern and Western Conference's players of the week,
respectively, for the week ending January 27, NBA announced
Monday.

Jefferson led the Timberwolves to a 3-1 week, averaging 28.8
points and 12.8 rebounds. The team defeated three playoff teams
from last season and its lone loss came by just a point against the
league's best team, Boston. His high point was a 40-point,
19-rebound effort in a 98-95 win Sunday over New Jersey.
Turkoglu helped the Magic to a 3-1 week, including wins over
Eastern Conference leaders Detroit and Boston. He led Orlando in
scoring each of its four games last week and averaged 25.5 points a
game. Turkoglu tallied a game-high 27 points, including the
game-winning three-pointer at the buzzer in a 96-93 victory Sunday
over Boston.
