Chinese trio Qin Yong, Yu Wei and Zhang Peng claimed the trio
event of aerobic gymnastics in 2007 Asian Indoor Games, ensuring
China's clean sweep of gold medals in the event in Macao on
Sunday.
The Chinese trio played an excellent game to outlast Tawinun
Kittipong, Thotkhamchai Phairach and Yiammit Chanchalak from
Thailand to take the title with 21.35 points.
The Thailand team placed second with 20.45 points while South
Koreans Cho Won-Ho, Hwang In-Chan and Song Jong-Kun third with 20.
25 points.
Earlier, Huang Jinxuan opened the gold medal tally for China as
she won the women's individual event with 20.85 points and won the
mixed pair event shortly afterwards with her partner He Shijiang
with 20.65 points.
Ao Jinping won the third gold medal for China in the event as he
outlasted South Korea Song Jong-Kun to take the men's individual
title with 21.85 points, Song had 21.15 points.
Thotkhamchai Phairach from Thailand placed third in the men's
individual with 20.60 points.
Aerobic gymnastics had finished all four events on Sunday and
all four gold medals went to China's delegation.
China perches atop the medal tally with 18 gold, 10 silver and 9
bronze medals, followed by Thailand on five and Japan five.
The Asian Indoor Games will run from October 27 to November 3,
more than 3000 athletes from 45 countries and regions take part in
the tournament.
