Changchun Yatai triumphed over Beijing Guoan in their Chinese Super League (CSL) match. Alves scored the sole point 77 minutes into Thursday's game.

Beijing had the initial advantage. In the second half, visitors Changchun burst into a 1-0 lead with a diving header from the unstoppable Alves.

The home team mounted attacks in hopes of an equalizer, but failed in front of the rivals' unyielding defense.

The win helped Changchun gain status in the title competition. They now have 48 points, one point more than capital's team. There are four matches to play.
