Kenneth Heiner-Moller, head coach of Denmark, was suspended on
Saturday by the FIFA Disciplinary Committee for unsporting behavior
towards a match official at the end of the women's World Cup game
China vs. Denmark.
A press release by the world soccer governing body FIFA said,
"The suspension amounts to four matches but, in application of Art.
33 par. 4 of the FIFA Disciplinary Code, the FIFA Disciplinary
Committee decided to suspend partially the sanction and fix a
probationary period of six months."
Consequently, the coach will have to serve two matches
suspension, including today's game Denmark vs New Zealand (Wuhan,
17:00 local time).
China upset Denmark 3-2 on a late winning goal in their FIFA
Women's World Cup Group D opener in Wuhan on Wednesday night.
All the Danes at the scene were so frustrated that some of them
committed impolite behaviors when the thrilling game ended.
