Angolan Basketball Federation (FAB) Chairman Gustavo da
Conceicao said the Nigerian basketball team "can be a very
difficult opponent to Angola" at the ongoing 24th African Men's
Basketball Championship (Afrobasket2007).
The official, who watched the game between Nigeria and the
Central African Republic in Group C, told reporters that Nigeria is
renewed and stronger and therefore Angola should pay greater
attention to it.
"For what I saw on Saturday it seems that Nigeria will be a very
difficult opponent to Angola as the team is very tall and stronger
to which our coaches much pay greater attention," he said.
He added that the Angolan team should be more careful in the
following games in order to be able to contradict the strong points
of the Nigerians.
The Angolan national basketball team is the No. 1 seed in the
ongoing Afrobasket2007 which is to run through from August 15 to 25
in Angola's five cities of Luanda, Benguela, Huambo, Cabinda and
Lubango.
