Athens Olympic champion Taufik Hidayat of Indonesia did not let
his newly-born daughter down as he cruised into the second round of
men's singles at the world badminton championships in Bukit Jalil
on Monday.
Eight seeded Taufik pipped unseeded Jose Antonio Crespo of Spain
with a confortable 21-13, 21-7 win.
Taufik said after the match that it was not tough but later
matches especially from the quarter-final will become harder.
If Taufik advances to quarter-final, he might clash with top
seed Lin Dan of China.
About ten days ago, 26-year-old Taufik had a daughter named
Natarina Alika and he was motivated to win the world title again as
a gift to her daughter.
In 2005, Taufik won his first world singles champion.
