Tony Stewart passed Kevin Harvick with ten laps remaining to win
the NASCAR race at Indianapolis on Sunday.
"We were about the only car that could stay with anybody who was
leading," the Chevrolet-driving Stewart told reporters after his
second consecutive win on the NASCAR circuit.
"I knew after about 15 laps on him (Harvick) I could get a run
at him," Stewart said.
Their cars made contact ten laps from the finish, bending the
front fender of Harvick's Chevrolet and he fell off the pace,
finishing seventh.
Former Formula One driver Juan Pablo Montoya was second in a
Dodge. Jeff Gordon, Kyle Busch and pole winner Reed Sorenson
followed.
"It was a lot of fun," Montoya, the 2000 Indianapolis 500
winner, told reporters after his best NASCAR showing on an oval
track.
