With three goals in each half, Premier League champions Manchester
United squashed Chinese Super League team Shenzhen 6-0 in a
friendly match in Macao on Monday.
Chinese international player Dong Fangzhuo replaced Wayne Rooney
to play up-front minutes into the second half, contributing with an
assist for the sixth goal.
The Chinese side were overrun from the get-go as ingenious
Cristiano Ronaldo and experienced Ryan Giggs eased in form and tore
down Shenzhen's defenses from both flanks.
The Red Devils rode on to a 1-0 lead in the 12th minute when
Rooney dribbled into the box, drawing defences away from his
cohort, he subsequently feed the ball to Giggs who drove it into an
open goal.
The Welshman repaid Rooney eight minutes later, helping the
latter to widen the gap to 2-0.
Later goals from Nani, just transferred to the team from
Portuguese side Sporting Lisbon, Johe O'Shea and C. Ronaldo gave
the visitors a 5-0 lead.
Dong Fangzhuo, substituting Rooney in the 59th minute, managed
an assist just four minutes after the change to help Christopher
Eagles make it 6-0.
Man Utd will now head for the fourth leg of their Asian tour in
Guangzhou.
