Shandong Beat Urawa Red Diamonds 4-3

Shandong Luneng of China came from behind to beat Japanese side Urawa Red Diamonds 4-3 in A3 Champions Cup in Jinan on Thursday.

Midfielder Hasebe Makoto headed in the first goal in the 16th minute to give Red Diamonds the lead. Zheng Zhi, who just came back from relegated English premier league side Charlton Athletics, leveled the score 18 minutes later.

Shu Chang made a clear shot in the 58th minute to make it 2-1.

In the 70th minute, the Chinese champions was awarded a penalty kick after Red Diamonds defender Horinouchi Satoshi fouled in the box. Midfielder Aleksandar Zivkovic made no mistakes from the point.

Zhou Haibin then added a fourth with a low powerful shot.

Urawa Red Diamonds didn't give up the match and substitute Cerqueira Washington Stecanela scored twicein the 89th and 90th minutes.

"The match is wonderful", said Ljubisa Tumbakovic, coach of Shandong Luneng. "We worked very hard in the first half. Our team took the control in the second half that they played better and scored three excellent goals."

"But in the last several minutes our players lost concentration and gave the rivals too many chances," he said.
