Chinese international soccer player Sun Jihai of
English Premiership side Manchester City has received a grade C for
his performance throughout the season, according ratings conducted
by a local sports publication.
Sina.com reports that the excessive frequency of position
changes since Sun came back from injuries this season led to his
mediocrity on the pitch.
Sun's teammates Micah Richards, Sylvain Distin and Richard Dunne
were each granted A marks.
It praised Sun's versatility on the field but criticized him for
his failure to specialize in a single position.
The player was preferred in the defensive midfielder, right
winger and right back position over the past season, but failed to
find a definitive niche in any of those positions.
Earlier reports revealed Sun's future in the club was becoming
dim with the firing of the manager, international legend Stuart
Pearce.
The team finished 14th in the 20-team Premiership this season
and has been much criticised for its failure to score once in eight
consecutive home games.
