ZZ Receives First Premiership Yellow Card
Adjust font size:

Chinese skipper Zheng Zhi Saturday received his first Premiership yellow card in a counterbalanced game between Charlton and Sheffield United.

Home team Charlton Athletic was held to a 1-1 draw, missing the chance to climb out of the Premiership drop-zone.

The Valley erupted after 59 minutes when a speculative long-range 35-yard shot from Charlton's Moroccan defender Talal El Karkouri somehow managed to beat United goalkeeper Paddy Kenny and finish up in the back of the net.

But the much-maligned Jonathan Stead produced an equally stunning equaliser on 69 minutes, to give the Yorkshire side the point which steers them slightly nearer safety.

Chinese captain Zheng Zhi played full-time, but failed to help his team bail out. He contributed to a superexcellent goal-mouth exchange in the 82 minute, but he failed to converted it to a winner.

Zheng also got his first Premiership yellow card because of a sliding tackle in the second half.

The draw leaves Charlton third from the bottom on 33 points with United still occupying the final survival spot two points above them.
