Chinese and overseas reporters can now apply for press passes
for the upcoming 2007 Special Olympics World Summer Games in
Shanghai, organizers announced yesterday. Applications will be
accepted until June 30.
Reporters covering the Games must register and obtain an
official picture identification pass to enter area of news coverage
during the event.
Reporters can download the media application form and
accommodation form from the official Website
http://www.2007specialolympics.com and send them to the media and
publicity department of the Games steering committee. The letter
must also include the signature of the media's Editor-in-Chief and
two color passport photos. More information is available on the

Scheduled to run from October 2 to 11, the 2007 Special Olympics
marks the first time the event will be held in Asia.
So far, nearly 11,000 athletes and coaches from 163 countries
have already confirmed their participation, the organizers said
yesterday.
The Games will have 21 official events, four performing events
and more than 10 non-sporting events, including the Host Town
Program, the Family Forum and the Global Youth Summit.
