Poll-leader Wang Zhizhi will play against his coach of the
Bayi Rockets in the upcoming All-Star game of the Chinese
Basketball Association league (CBA) next month, as the league
announced Wednesday the All-Star squad in Beijing.
Jiang Xingquan, head coach of the Zhejiang Cyclones, selected
Wang as his first choice to his Zhangu Team (meaning Drum Team),
when Adijiang, head coach of Bayi, had to select Yi Jianlian from
Guangdong Southern Tigers and Mo Ke from Bayi for his
first two choices of Zhanqi Team (meaning Flag Team).
The two coaches chose one after one to form the 10-player team
each for the 2007 All-Star, which will be played in Yiwu, Zhejiang,
on Feb. 9-11.
Following are the squad for both teams:
Zhangu Team:
Head coach: Jiang Xingquan (Zhejiang Cyclones)
Assistant Coach: Min Lulei (Beijing Ducks)
Players: Wang Zhizhi (Beyi), Tang Zhengdong (Jiangsu), Du Feng
(Guangdong), Wang Shipeng (Guangdong), Liu Wei (Shanghai), Anthony
Myles (Dongguan), Yi Li (Jiangsu), Lu Xiaoming (Fujian SBS), Yang
Ming (Liaoning) , Ding Jinhui (Zhejiang).
Zhanqi Team:
Head coach: Adijiang (Bayi)
Assistant coach: Guo Shiqiang (Liaoning)
Players: Yi Jianlian (Guangdong), Mo Ke (Bayi), Zhu Fangyu
(Guangdong), Zhang Jinsong (Bayi), Hu Xuefeng (Jiangsu), Zhang
Qingpeng (Liaoning), Meng Da (Jiangsu), Jiao Jian (Beijing), Luo
Zhi (Zhejiang), Lorenzo Coleman (Xinjiang).
Gabe Muoneke, who was selected by Adijiang in the starting
lineup for Zhanqi Team, will be avaible for the All-Star because of
his foot injury. Adijiang re-selected Coleman as a backup to
Muoneke.
