Bayi Rockets Run to Seventh Straight Win

Wang Zhizhi and Li Nan combined to notch 59 points to lead the Bayi Rockets to their seventh consecutive victory after beating the Shannxi Kylins 103-79 on Wednesday in the Chinese Basketball Association league (CBA).

The military team renamed after sponsor Fubang on weekend and ran for its third win in a row in the league's second phase of the season after the Asian Games break.

Wang nailed down 31 points and grabbed 12 rebounds while Li Nan recovered from his knee surgery which hindered him from the court for more than 100 days for an outstanding performance of 28 points, six steals, four assists and three rebounds.

The Kylins produced a challenge as it trailed 41-40 at the break, and closed the gap to 72-68 at the start of the fourth quarter, before Bayi ran away with a 12-0 run.

Dongguan New Century celebrated the coming of new head coach Zhang Yongjun with a 134-112 win over Shandong a day earlier in the round.

The Beijing Ducks was upset by new comers Zhejiang Guangsha 104-87 on Tuesday.

In Wednesday's other matches, Zhejiang Cyclones beat Xinjiang Flying Tigers 98-95, Liaoning Hunters beat Yunnan Bulls 117-74, Guangdong Southern Tigers beat Jilin Northeast Tigers 113-94 while Shanghai Sharks thumped Shanxi Zhongyu 129-93.

Heavy snow postponed the game between Jiangsu Dragons and Fujian SBS.
