The Chinese youth football team has made it through the knockout round at the AFC Youth Championships with a 1-0 win over Thailand on Friday.

 

Substitute Wang Yongpo, at his third goal in the tournament, thrashed the ball into the left upper corner of the Thai net in the 78th minute to help China finish perfect in the group which also includes Australia and UAE.

 

China had previously won over Australia and UAE 1-0 and 2-1.

 

In the other game, the ambitious Aussies beat UAE 2-nil to grip 2nd place in the group.

 

China is to play Jordan in the quarterfinals on Monday while Australia will clash with tough South Korea.
