Badminton: Chinese Duo Storm into Denmark Open 3rd Round

China's Chen Hong and Chen Yu each claimed 2-0 wins over their opponents to advance to the third round of the Denmark Open badminton tournament.

Second seed Chen Hong beat Swede Kristian Karttunen 21-13, 21-16, while Chen Yu eliminated home favorite Jan Jorgensen 21-16, 21-18.

Top-seeded Danish Peter Gade joined Malaysia's Wong Choong Hann and Roslin Hashim to advance to the next stage of the men's singles event.

In doubles play, two Chinese pairs, Xu Chen/Zhang Wei and He Hanbin/Shen Xie, advanced to the second round.

On the women's side, Chinese teenager Wang Lin won her first-round match, along with three other compatriots.

Wang claimed an easy victory over Diana Dimova of Bulgaria, 21-9, 21-10.

Chinese duo Tian Qing/Pan Pan overwhelmed their French rivals 21-14, 21-14 for a second-round birth in women's doubles, while Xu Chen/Chen Shu won 2-0 to move into the second round of mixed doubles.
