Star guard Chen Jianghua, who also played for China in the World Championship, scored 23 points in just one half.

China thrashed Hong Kong yesterday 138-44 to clinch first place in Group A.

In the 2nd round of round-robin, China is in Group I with Chinese Taipei, Kuwait and Kazakhstan.

In the other Group I game, Chinese Taipei defeated Kuwait 106-76.

China will face undefeated Chinese Taipei next.
