China's youth basketball team played down Kyrgyzstan Friday at the 19th FIBA Asia Championship for Junior Men in Urumqi, capital of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.

The hosts controlled the match from beginning to end, with a final victory of 105-41.

The Chinese team's coach, Li Chunjiang, said after the match that the young Chinese players will play better and better in the following games.

He had high praise for Chen Jianghua, who participated in the 2006 World Men's Basketball Championship in Japan with the Chinese national team.

China will meet its second opponent, Japan, on Saturday.
