China's snooker prodigy Ding Junhui has sailed into the last 16
at the Northern Ireland Trophy after beating world number 16,
Anthony Hamilton, 5-3.
It took Ding only 15 minutes to wind up the first frame. He then
extended his lead to 2-0 before Hamilton launched a 3-0 comeback
run to exchange the lead at 3-2.
Ding then climbed back to win the next three frames en route to
win the whole match, 5-3.
Another Chinese teenager, Tian Pengfei, almost made it through
in a close contest with Shaun Murphy. Tian, a tournament debutant,
failed to surpass the world-number-five cueist and lost the match,
5-4.
