China outlasted Russia 3-2 in a thrilling five-set clash to
become the undefeated champions of the Russian President Cup
women's volleyball tournament.
China won the trophy for the first time since the Cup began in
Russia in 2003.
The team upset the Russians 25-22, 14-25, 25-20, 18-25 and 15-9
for their fourth straight victory in the eight-team round-robin
tournament.
The Netherlands beat Turkey 3-0 to win the bronze medal at the
tournament which also featured Cuba, Azerbaijan, the Russian Youth
team and Kazakhstan.
