Shooting: Zhu Mei Crowns at World Cup
Adjust font size:
33-year-old Zhu Mei won the gold medal at the Trap Women's Final of the ISSF World Cup, held in the

United States in Kerrville, Texas.

Zhu entered the final with a one-target advantage after the qualifying round. The veteran markswoman had to battle intensely against the shooting range's windy conditions to keep her leading position.

She got 17 out of 25 targets in the final to win the gold medal, again just one target ahead of the closest competitor Theresa Dewitt.

The 43-year-old American took the silver medal and a quota place for the Beijing Olympic Games in 2008 since China has already secured a berth in the trap event for the Beijing Games.

Germany's Susanne Kiermayer, 37, grabbed the bronze.
