The London Games have been a good show all in all, but it's had its fair share of controversy. Controversial decisions involving Chinese athletes have generated some bitter feelings among the public at home.

Causing the biggest stir no doubt was a loss suffered by Chen Yibing, nicknamed "Lord of the Rings". A surprising and much disputed score of 16.9 for the last routine from Brazil's Arthur Nabarrete deprived Chen of the gold and a glorious end to an illustrious career.

And in the women's hammer throw final, China's Zhang Wenxiu lost her bronze following an unusual technical glitch. Many have been disappointed with how Chinese athletes were treated in other events such as badminton, table tennis and cycling.
