Fernanda Rodrigues, Fabiana Oliveira, Jaqueline Carvalho, Danielle Lins, Fabiana Claudino and Sheilla Castro of Brazil celebrate after a point against USA during the women's Volleyball gold-medal match on Day 15 of the London 2012 Olympic Games at Earls Court.

Defending Olympic champion Brazil overcame a sluggish start to beat World No. 1 United States 3-1 here on Saturday to defend their title at the London Games women's volleyball finals.

It's doomed to be a head-to-head when the world's top two women's teams showed up at the Earls Court. The Brazilians repeated the glory they won four years ago in Beijing after wrapping up the 110-minute tussle 11-25, 25-17, 25-20, 25-17 with effective blocking and powerful serving.

Jose Roberto Guimaraes, headcoach of Brazil, also added the third gold medal to his showcase after leading men's team to Olympic gold in 1992 Barcelona Olympic and women's team in Beijing.

Earlier on Saturday, Japan upset its long-time Asian rivals South Korea 3-0 to back on the Olympic podium in 28 years after winning the bronze medal.
