Badminton's world governing body will study changes to the Olympic sport to avoid a repeat of the match-throwing scandal that hit the London Games.
Thomas Lund, the general secretary of the Badminton World Federation, said yesterday a tournament review will be presented at a meeting in November, including an evaluation of the debut of group play in London.
Four women's doubles pairs - the gold medal favorites from China, plus two from South Korea and one from Indonesia - took advantage of the new format by trying to lose their last group matches to give themselves easier quarterfinal matchups. They were disqualified and sent home.
