A Russian cyclist and Colombian track and field athlete have failed drug tests prior to the London Olympic Games, the International Olympic Committee said on Saturday.
IOC spokesman Mark Adams told a daily press briefing that Russian track cyclist Victoria Baranova was expelled after testing positive for testosterone on July 24 in Belarus. Her positive test had been confirmed Friday by the UCI, cycling's governing body.
Adams said Colombian Diego Palomeque has been provisionally suspended after a pre-competition positive test. The 18-year-old 400m runner did not start in his scheduled heat Saturday.
