Hungarian anthem played off-key
The Hungarian delegation and audience were shocked to hear their national anthem being played severely off-key at the awards ceremony after the country's athlete Aron Szilagyi won the men's individual sabre gold on July 29. The Hungarian Olympic Committee has asked the London Games' organizers to change the weird and inaccurate rendition, which was recorded by the London Philharmonic Orchestra more than a year ago.
Brazilian Judo player broke his bronze medal
It seems that Olympic medal winners need to take better care of their medals, when a report came that the Brazilian Judo contestant Felipe Kitadai accidently broke his bronze medal, which he claimed in the men's 60kg Judo on July 28. Kitadai carried the medal everywhere he went. The part holding the medal's string broke when he took it to the shower and dropped it by accident. The Brazilian Olympic Committee said that the International Olympic Committee has agreed to give a new one to Kitadai.
Mongolian judo contestant's nip slip incident
The nip slip incident occurred when Argentinean contestant Paula Pareto accidently gripped the sports bra of her Mongolian competitor Urantsetseg Munkhbat during the semifinal round of the women's 48kg judo competition at ExCel Arena on July 28. Munkhbat, probably under the negative effects of this incident, was defeated by Pareto.
Misunderstanding on ambiguous "unticketed"
Nearly 4,000 fans arrived at Lord's Cricket Ground on the morning of July 27 to watch the preliminary round of the Olympic archery event, but were turned down as the LOCOG said that the opening stages were not open to the public. The fans said that they saw the session was listed as "unticketed" on the official website of the Games, which means to them that the audience can just turn up there on the day for a free entry. The fans were furious for the misunderstanding caused by LOCOG's non-meticulous use of ambiguous words.
