The White House said Michelle Obama will lead the official US delegation to the opening ceremonies of the 2012 Summer Olympic Games in London.
Laura Bush headed the delegation to the 2006 Winter Olympics in Torino, Italy, and Hillary Clinton headed up the delegation at the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer, Norway.
