The world No. 1 Rafael Nadal from Spain grabbed a comfortable straight-set win against Sweden ace Robin Soderling on Wednesday, setting up a semifinal clash with the fourth seed Andy Murray at the French Open.
The duo played for the third year in a row at Roland Garros while the Spaniard took control to knock out his opponent 6-4, 6-1 and 7-6(3).
The 24-year-old Nadal is going to fight British top player Murray who saw off unseeded Juan Ignacio Chela from Argentina 7-6( 2), 7-5, 6-2.
Soderling, 26, was the giant killer at the 2009 French Open as he became the only one who had ever beaten Nadal at Roland Garros but lost in the final to Roger Federer. The big hitter reached the final back-to-back last year, but failed to repeat his stunning victory against Nadal.
The five-time French Open champion Nadal is two wins away from Bjorn Borg's record of six titles at Roland Garros.
