Novak Djokovic continued his challenge for a first French Open title after Romania's Victor Hanescu pulled out of their second-round match with the Serb leading 6-4 6-1 2-3.
Hanescu, 29 suffered a thigh injury during the match and decided to walk off the court while
trailing 4-6, 1-6, 3-2.
It means that the 24-year-old Serb could put himself in joint 4th place for the longest winning streak with Roger Federer and Bjorn Borg. The record of 46 is held by Guillermo Vilas.
Djokovic will lock horns with Juan Martin Del Potro as the 25th seed from Argentina defeated Blaz Kavcic of Slovenia 6-3, 6-2 and 6-4 earlier.
Roger Federer produced a masterclass to brush aside French wildcard Maxime Teixeira in 84 minutes 6-3 6-0 6-2.
The Swiss was broken back in the first set but went on to win comfortably with some sublime shotmaking, at one point winning 13 consecutive games.
He will next face Janko Tipsarevic after he also won in straight sets, 6-1 6-3 6-0 over Pere Riba.
