Lionel Messi and Barcelona team arrive in Japan on December 12, 2011, ahead of the FIFA Clubs Worlds Cup. |
Barcelona have arrived in Japan ahead of their Club World Cup semi-final meeting with Al Sadd on December 15.
The European champions came from behind to beat arch-rivals Real Madrid 3-1 in their La Liga clash at the Santiago Bernabeu on Saturday evening and boarded a plane to Tokyo only hours later.
The flight landed at Narita Airport in Tokyo at 22.20 local time after 12-hour flying. The late arrival did not deter hundreds of die hard supporters of the team from showing up for a chance to meet their favorite team.
After landing in Tokyo, the Barca delegation travelled by bus to Yokohama, where the team hotel is located. They will be back at work on Monday, with a training session at Yokohama Marinos' Sports City.
Barcelona previously won the Club World Cup in 2009 when they beat Estudiantes 2-1 after extra time.
