Chicago Bulls power forward Carlos Boozer was diagnosed with a sprained left ankle, which could keep him sidelined for a couple of days to a week, Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau confirmed on Thursday.
The injury happened in the fourth quarter of Chicago's 101-84 triumph at Charlotte when Boozer was driving for a lay-up and knocked to the court on a flagrant foul by the Bobcats' Kwame Brown.
Boozer limped off and was given X-ray and MRI exams to determine the extent of his injury.
The playmaker missed the first 15 games of the season after suffering a broken right little finger in October, but has averaged 18.6 points and 9.6 rebounds a game this season.
The Bulls recorded 45 wins and 18 losses this season by winning 11 of their past 13 games to pull into second place in the Eastern Conference, one and a half games behind pace-setter Boston.
