NBA leaders San Antonio Spurs' Gregg Popovich has been named coach on Tuesday for the Western Conference in next month's NBA All-Star Game at Los Angeles.
The four-time NBA championship winning coach with the Spurs, who has a career record of 774-369 and 106 playoff triumphs, previously led the West All-Stars in 2005.
Under his guidance, the Spurs are off to a club record 38-7 start with the best record in the NBA so far this season, four games better than Eastern Conference leader Boston.
The West squad will face an East lineup in the 60th annual showcase of superstars on February 20. The East's coach has not yet been determined.
