Sevilla' s Spain international winger, Jesus Navas has signed a three year extension to his contract with the club.
The 25-year-old has agreed a deal that will now keep him at the club until the end of June 2015. His previous contract was due to expire in 2012.
However, Navas' new contract has seen the club agree to significantly lower his buyout clause from 60 Euros ($81 million dollars) to 35 million Euros ($47 million dollars), which in theory would make him more accessible to a club such as Real Madrid, which had previously been linked with the player.
Sevilla President, Jose Maria del Nido rested importance from the decision to effectively lower Navas' price.
"His clause is still above the level of the current sales that are happening in the World of football," assured Del Nido on the official Sevilla website.
Meanwhile Navas assured that he had no intention of leaving the club where he has spent his entire career.
"I didn' t see myself playing for another team. My first intention was to carry on playing here, a club which has given everything to me and where I am very happy," said the winger.
Navas returned to action at the end of 2010 after missing the greater part of the season with an ankle injury. Last summer saw him form part of the Spanish squad that won the World Cup and he played as a substitute in the final, starting the move that ended with Andres Iniesta scoring the winning goal for Spain.
