Italian goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon made his comeback on Thursday as Juventus beat Catania 2-0 to reach the last eight of th Italian Cup.
Buffon had left the field since the World Cup in South Africa last June due to back injury.
Juventus opened the scoring by Serbia winger Milos Krasic in the 34th minute and Italy wideman Simone Pepe sealed the victory nine minutes after the half-time.
Juventus joined Inter Milan, Palermo and Parma in the last eight while the other four qualifiers will be decided next week.
The Italian Cup represents Jventus' best chance of silverware this season as they were eliminated of the Europa League in the group stages and currently only ranked the sixth in the first division league.
