Bolivian President Evo Morales and Guatemalan President Alvaro Colom congratulated on Thursday their Paraguayan counterpart Fernando Lugo because Paraguayan national soccer team got its ticket for the second round of the World Cup of South Africa 2010.
Paraguay's Information Direction of the Presidency said in a statement that those presidents "phoned Lugo few minutes after the match" against New Zealand.
The statement said that they called Lugo "to congratulate him and the Paraguayan people for the historical achievement of the national team, as it got the ticket at the first place of its group."
"Both Presidents expressed their trust on Paraguay's achievement to encourage the team to get more triumphs at the World Cup and they also expressed their admiration for the game level of the team," the statement added.
Morales and Colom said that "congratulated all the Paraguayan people and added that they expect them to celebrate with joy this sport achievement at the king of the sports (soccer)."
Lugo "thanked his counterparts' attention in the frame of the celebrations hosted" for this achievement.
