Honduras' 1982 World Cup coach José de la Paz Herrera said on Monday that the South American side "lost with dignity" though being down 2-0 to Spain at the South Africa grand event.

Herrera told Xinhua that the Honduran players gave the best of themselves, however "it was not enough," they missed technique and speed.

He added that the Honduran team he coached in 1982 at the Spain World Cup has "aplomb and personality."

"I cannot say that the players in that time gave more because it is not like that, but they had more personality and that is why we were hailed as one of the best in the fifth group," Herrera said.

According to Herrera, the new team need more offense and if they keep the same rhythm during the last match against Switzerland, there will be no possibility for them to get a ticket for the next round.

Herrera said the national team has to score a goal, because the Honduran fans have been keeping inside the goal scream.
