Wang Xiaoling, director of the Guangzhou Publicity Department, also addressed the meeting. She said that Guangzhou aims to enhance its soft power through this massive event. Many public activities have been organized to attract citizen participation and to educate them about Guangzhou's cultural resources.

The Organizing Committee's Culture and Ceremonies Department Director He Jiqing said the Games will showcase the cultural resources and personality of Guangzhou, especially through its performances during the opening and closing ceremonies.
