Euroleague basketball CEO Jordi Bertomeu announced Thursday that the matches beyond the round of 16 for the 2010-2011 season would be broadcasted live in China.
The Euroleague basketball cooperated with the Chinese Sports Programs Network (CSPN) to broadcast the matches through several Chinese provincial television channels when the round of 16 starts on January 19, 2011.
This is to be the first time that Chinese fans could watch live Euroleague matches in China.
Bertomeu said the cooperation with CSPN would last at least four years, during which they will promote the European basketball in China.
"Chinese fans could watch at least four matches a week and I think we'll see more European basketball teams to visit China in the future," Bertomeu said.
A total of 24 teams from 13 countries and regions kicked off the Euroleague 2010-2011 season on October 20. The Finals will take place in May.
